Tapaswini Bhattacharjee, M.A. in English Literature is an young Bharatnatyam Dancer. She belongs to a rich cultural family where the father Sri Tarun Bhattacharjee is attach with theatre and her mother Smt. Papiya Bhattacharjee’s passion was Rabindra Sangeet. She took her first steps in dance whwn she was three and half years old. Her initial training of Bharatnatyam Furthered her holistic training in Bharatnatyam from Nrittakshetra. To this strong foundation she has harnessed an esthetic sensibility and spiritual depth which makes her performance scale great creative heights. Excelling in both facts of dance “Nritta and Abhinaya” her performance are marked as natural and joyous. Under the strict but loving guidance of Acharya Anusuya Ghosh Banerjee she had completed tha Adya, Madhya and Anta course from Nrittakshetra. She had her “Arangetram” in the year 2004 at Gyan manch, Kolkata.
Under the portal of Nrittakshetra she had performed at various platforms like Purbanchal Vardhaman Kalakendra, Kolkata-2005,: All India Multilingual Dance Competition, Pune-2009 with UNESCO, Inter University Youth Festival, Eastern Zone, Kalyani University, Nadia-2010, Geeta Jayanti, Sri Satyananda Mela, Baruipur, South 24 Paraganas-2010,: Durga Puja Utsav at Shalimar Gardens (Delhi), Tagore Park (Delhi) etc. She has got the 1st Position of RAWA Global Dance Competition, Kolkata, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, 2nd position of Sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Dance Competition, Kolkata in 2003 and 1st position of Inter College Competition, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore-2010. She has also received the award of “Child Prodigy” and “Best Dancer’s Award” from Nrittakshetra.
She has also attended workshops on Bhratnatyam (Heritage School & Satyananda Mahapith), Abhinaya Darpan (Midnapore), Natyasastra Camp (Midnapore & Baruipur), Then & Now in collaboration of Nrittakshetra with Ministry Of Culture. She performed at World Dance Day, Rabindrasadan-Kolkata-2011,: Rajya Sangeet Academy Dance Competition-Kolkata-2011, Purba Sanskritik Kendra (P.S.K Hall)-Delhi-2012, Nano Technology Conference at Jadavpur University-Jadavpur-Kolkata-2012 and 150 year of Tagore at University Institute Hall-Kolkat-2012. She has achieved 2nd position at Inter College Competition at Vidyasagar University, Midnapore-2012. Under the able guidance of Acharya Anusuya Ghosh Banerjee she has received Young Artist Scholarship under from Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India. Recently she has performed at Navodit Festival on 21st September,2015 which was organized by EZCC (Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Ministry Of Culture, Govt. Of India).
At present she is teaching in her own institution Lasya Dance Academy, at Midnapore & assisting her guru in various production & workshops. The earnest desire of her life is to follow the foot steps of her guru by making dance not only her passion but the spiritual path of her life.
